Roof replacement prices range anywhere from $2.50 per square foot installed for lower grade asphalt shingles all the way up to $35 per square foot installed for slate tiles. All pricing is listed alphabetically and includes an estimated price range per square foot.
Aluminum roofing costs range from $7 to $15 per square foot fully installed. There are two options available, either a standing seam panel or an interlocking shingle with the panels being the more expensive option.
Asphalt shingles range from $2.50 to $6 per square foot fully installed. and will be either a composite organic shingle or the lighter woven fiberglass option. This is one of the least are expensive roofing options, significantly less than bulkier materials such as concrete or clay tiles.
Built Up Roofs

Cedar shingles range from $5 and $9 per square foot installed and come in a variety of different styles, including shake, shingles, tapersawn and handsplit. In general, cedar roofing offers good insulation and protection, but they do require some periodic maintenance and tend to darken over time.
Clay tile roof prices range from $6 and $10 per square foot installed. Clay tiles are one of the oldest styles around, easily identifiable by their terra cotta color and distinct look. The style is based on Spanish architecture and are a good choice for warmer climates such as the Southwest United States.

Concrete tiles range from $5 to $10.50 per square foot installed. They are made from a some combination of sand, limestone, cement and wate and remain a very popular material due to their considerable durability, longevity and visual appeal.
Cool roofs range in price from $4 to $24 per square foot, a huge range based on the material used. Popular cool roofing surfaces include foam, rubber and metal that can effectively reflect the sun's rays from the surface and provides a much more energy efficient roofing solution.

Synthetic Slate Tiles
