"I recently received estimates to replace the roof of our 3800 square foot home. They (mostly) estimated that we would need 4400 squares of roofing to include overage and a small overhang section. We live in Hartford, Connecticut home and we are looking for a good quality composite shingle replacement material. These are the bids:
Jules Poirier Company: $33K
CT Roofing Solutions: $26K
Pride Home Improvements $32K
Are we over paying?"

Editor's Advice:
Julia, from what you’ve described, I would say these are pretty fair prices. However, roofing estimates are somewhat complex and sometimes they accidentally omit items. I would vet the companies by checking them out online and reading reviews and then I would go back and ask if the estimate covered all of the costs. Ask about any hidden costs that might be lurking. Assuming no, then I think the price points seem quite fair.
